Through INC Research's ordinary course of business, investigator data collected through clinical trial activities is coded so that personal identifiers are removed. INC Research and its affiliates, subsidiaries and agents use customary measures in the clinical trial industry to recruit and inform study participants about the respective clinical trial research. Investigators and their requisite Institutions selected to conduct clinical trials may also provide additional information in accordance with industry standards. The informed consent notices the study participant of the research rationale, the types of collected data, and the manner in which the data will be used. INC Research makes best efforts to validate the accuracy of and to update its clinical study data.
Data collected for Human Resource purposes may include an employee's or prospective employee's name, gender, contact information, career history, performance documentation, salary and other benefits information.
Any individual that submits personally identifiable information to INC Research is given advance notice of the use of such information. Those individuals will be given the opportunity to choose (opt-out) with regard to the protection of information to be: (a) disclosed to a third party or (b) used for a purpose that is incompatible with the purpose or purposes for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual.
For sensitive information (information including medical or health conditions, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or information specifying the gender or sex preference of the individual), an individual will be given the explicit (opt-in) choice for that information to be disclosed to a third party or used for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual through the exercise of the opt-in choice.
Authorized agents working on behalf of INC Research and its clinical trial sponsors, such as pharmaceutical companies, are required to properly execute confidentiality agreements in connection with handling confidential information containing personal data in accordance with applicable laws, including but not limited to, the European Data Protection Directive [EC/95/46].
Commitment to Data Security
INC Research upholds a high level of security in connection to protecting its data. Computer systems, equipment, networks, programs, data, and documentation are secured to the extent reasonably practicable using existing technology, as is customary, if not otherwise regulated, in the pharmaceutical research industry. Access to data and equipment is restricted to appropriate staff on a need to know basis.
INC Research also makes best efforts to conform its data security policies to the respective national and international data protection and confidentiality regulations governing the performance of clinical research.
Your personal information collected by INC Research, its subsidiaries, affiliates and authorized agents, is used solely for the purposes expressed at the time of collection unless you authorize otherwise. INC Research, its subsidiaries, affiliates and authorized agents endeavor to collect and maintain only information that is accurate, complete, and current.
Generally, an individual that provides identifiable information to INC Research has the right to reasonable access to that information. INC Research, its subsidiaries, affiliates and authorized agents collect information for the purposes of clinical research and statistical analysis. Clinical research information is collected in a manner that does not contain any individual identifiers in accordance with industry standards. Without any individual identifiers, unauthorized third parties should not have the capability to access the information. If an individual study participant desires access, it can be requested through the investigator or physician from whom the participant received treatment in accordance with customary practices and regulations in the pharmaceutical industry.

Inquiries and Complaints
All questions or concerns regarding the use or disclosure of personal information should be directed to the Data Privacy Officer. INC Research will endeavor to respond to any such requests and any issues raised in a timely manner. If a complaint is not resolved, INC Research has agreed to cooperate with the Federal Trade Commission, the European Data Protection Authorities, or other appropriate regulatory agencies available to the parties to resolve disputes pursuant to the Safe Harbor Principles.
